| Mott MacDonald to help gain funding for FARRRS project Mott MacDonald, the United Kingdom firm, has helped Doncaster Council and its private sector partners gain funding from the Government's Regional Growth Fund for the Gateway to the Sheffield City Region project, which includes the Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS). It is one of just 50 bids to have been awarded funding at this stage. The scheme, one of the top priorities of the newly formed Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, will improve access to Robin Hood Airport and connect strategic sites for employment and housing. The bid was compiled by a multi-disciplinary team comprising staff from both Doncaster Council and Mott MacDonald, jointly led by Neil Firth, Doncaster's project sponsor, Nigel Morley, FARRRS project manager and Mott MacDonald director Brian Witten. A planning application for FARRRS is expected to be submitted by the end of 2011. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
