| Arcadis sells facility management activities to Asito Dienstengroep Dutch engineering consultancy Arcadis NV announced that Arcadis and Carillion have signed an agreement to sell their respective 50% stakes in the joint venture Arcadis Aqumen Facility Management B.V. to Asito Dienstengroep for an undisclosed amount. For Arcadis the decision to sell stems from a review of its portfolio of activities in conjunction with the recently published strategy update. It is expected that the transaction will be closed in the second quarter of 2011 upon gaining regulatory approvals and fulfilling some other standard deal conditions. The joint venture Arcadis Aqumen Facility Management was established in 2003 between Arcadis and U.K.-based support services specialist Mowlem Aqumen (now Carillion) to capture the Dutch and later the European facility management market. After winning a series of 3-5 year contracts with clients in the industrial, banking services, real estate and transportation sectors, Arcadis Aqumen became the largest single provider of independent facility management services in the Netherlands and a fast growing player in Belgium. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
