| Zumtobel plant in Dornbirn investing in production staff The Zumtobel plant in Dornbirn is investing in building the knowledge of its production staff and offering a comprehensive range of vocational training and continuing professional development measures. In the current financial year alone, 122 employees have taken up in-house training opportunities, making a total of 509 days' training. For the coming financial year (from May 2011) the budget for in-house training has been more than doubled. In future, the plant is budgeting with between two and three days' training per year for each employee, which with a workforce of 750 equates to up to 2,250 days' training a year. The core topic of the vocational and continuing development measures for production staff is on quality-related topics, because from a customer perspective an uncompromising approach to quality is decisive. One year ago, Zumtobel became one of the first companies in the lighting industry to grant a voluntary five-year warranty on its entire product range. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
