Züblin building TaunusTurm in Frankfurt financial district

Strabag SE, Central and Eastern Europe's largest construction company, through its German subsidiary Ed. Züblin AG, has been awarded the contract for the turnkey construction of the TaunusTurm in Frankfurt's financial district at the Taunusanlage park. The client of the project, being developed according to a design by Frankfurt-based architects Gruber + Kleine-Kraneburg, is the US real estate company Tishman Speyer in cooperation with Commerz Real. Construction company Züblin's Stuttgart division will develop the TaunusTurm under a "Züblin teamconcept" partnership with Tishman Speyer, as already was the case with the OpernTurm project completed in 2009.

The construction contract, with a value of approximately € 200 million, comprises a 170 m office tower with 40 floors and a 62 m residential tower with 16 floors connected by a six-storey perimeter block. The entire building complex on the approx. 5,500 m² plot of land at the corner of Taunustor and Neue Mainzer Straße will contain four underground floors and a gross floor area of 103,000 m², with 62,000 m² of lettable space.

Construction is due to start in April 2011 and is scheduled for completion at the end of 2013.
