| Strabag lands three international projects The power plants/flue gas treatment business field of Strabag's Environmental Technology won three international projects in the first three months of 2011 with a total value of more than € 30 million. The company signed an order for the retrofit of flue gas denitrification systems for several coal-fired boiler power plants in Poland. In a consortium with Strabag Sp. z o.o., Strabag AG will retrofit four coal-fired boilers at PKE Electronics AG's Łaziska Power Station with flue gas denitrification systems using selective catalytic reduction (SCR DeNOx systems) by 2015. Using technology developed by Strabag, the power plant will be one of the first in Poland to fulfil the European Union's strict environmental guidelines. The company also received an order for the engineering, production, assembly and start-up of a flue gas SCR DeNOx system from voestalpine Stahl GmbH, Linz, Austria. The SCR system will greatly reduce the nitrogen oxide emissions of the company's sinter plant in Linz and will make a significant contribution to reducing airborne particulate matter. The flue gas treatment system will begin operations at the end of 2012 and will help voestalpine to meet the prescribed emission levels on schedule. In early March, Strabag agreed the first delivery order of denitrification systems on the basis of a framework agreement for two inline gas turbine power plants in California, USA, with Dutch boiler manufacturer Nem. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
