Árkád Szeged in Hungary is topped out

The construction works for the "Árkád" shopping center in the South Hungarian town of Szeged are fully on schedule: Christoph Augustin, local Managing Director of Germany's ECE in Hungary, and Sándor Scheer, Managing Director of the general contractor "Market Építő Zrt.", together with representatives of the town of Szeged and the construction workers celebrated on March 03, 2011, the topping out of the new inner-city shopping gallery. Currently, around 700 construction workers and craftsmen are busy on the large-scale construction site. With Árkád, Hungary's fourth largest city will receive as of fall of this year a new city-center magnet with approx. 130 specialist stores, restaurants, cafés and service providers. In total, Árkád provides on three floors more than approx. 41,000 m˛ of rental space and approx. 1,350 parking spaces. The total catchment area comprises more than 400,000 people.

Leasing of retail space in Árkád is progressing well. Up to now, agreements for more than 70% of the rental space were concluded. Leasing experts expect to increase this figure with further anchor tenants to around 80% by end of April.
