| Digital scroll compressors in select energy recovery ventilators Greenheck has introduced digital scroll compressors in its Model ERCH and Model VER energy recovery ventilators to improve temperature and humidity control and save energy. Featuring an integral controller with a time-averaging sequence, the rate at which the scrolls are engaged and disengaged varies in order to match the required cooling capacity. Using digital scrolls for capacity control provides leaving air temperatures as precise as 1 degree F. In addition to precise temperature control, digital scrolls offer cooling capacity turndown from 10 to 100%. The compressor turndown results in longer cycle times that improve humidity control, reduce compressor wear, and eliminate the need for hot gas bypass to improve the overall efficiency of the system. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
