Ferrovial Servicios, through its UK subsidiary Amey, has acquired the transportation planning and traffic engineering consultancy Transportation Planning (International) Ltd. This acquisition, the third in a year, will aid the company to optimize delivery of its strategic transport schemes across the UK.

Through the agreement, Amey will strengthen its capability in transport planning, transport modeling and traffic engineering. It will also secure transport consultancy contracts across the UK, for key clients in Central and Local Government as well as for the private sector.

In June 2010 Amey acquired the national rail consultancy WYG (formerly White Young Green), through which it added 100 skilled professionals, as well as a series of key contracts across the country. AmeyCespa acquired the waste management business Donarbon. This company is delivering a 28-year, £730 million waste management PFI contract in Cambridgeshire.
