| Commission initiates proceedings against HeidelbergCement World's third-largest cement maker, HeidelbergCement has been informed by the European Commission about the decision to initiate formal proceedings in respect of possible anticompetitive practices in the markets of cement and related products in some countries of the European Economic Area. The Commission has indicated that HeidelbergCement, as well as seven other companies, will be included in these proceedings. This proceeding is not new, but stems from an investigation launched by the European Commission in November 2008. No concrete allegations have been mentioned so far. HeidelbergCement cooperates with the European Commission and has transmitted information to the Commission on request. Own investigations together with external law firms did not confirm the suspected infringements. As such, HeidelbergCement assumes that the company can rebut the suspicions. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
