Bilfinger Berger wins new building orders in Australia

Valemus, Bilfinger Berger's Australian subsidiary, has won new orders in the healthcare and education sectors with a total value of €275 million.

In the state of Queensland, the company will construct the main building of the Cairns Base Hospital and will undertake a considerable refurbishment of three existing hospital blocks. The measures will be carried out while the hospital is in operation and are particularly demanding in terms of coordinating the work flow.

For the Australian National University in the capital of Canberra, Valemus will construct a building complex with apartments for more than 550 students along with a wide range of leisure facilities and an underground parking garage with over 700 parking spaces. In Melbourne, a new building for the Australian Catholic University will be constructed that will offer students state of the art lecture halls, seminar rooms and sports facilities. Both projects meet strict environmental standards and are to be certified with five and six stars respectively from the Australian Green Building Council. Six Green Stars are only awarded in exceptional cases for particularly high energy efficiency.
