| Iberdrola Ingeniería receives the GE Energy EPC Award in Dubai During the recent "GE Energy Global Engineering and EPC Summit" held in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Spanish engineering company Iberdrola Ingeniería received the "GE Energy EPC Award in Recognition of Iberdrola Ingeniería for Partnership Growth". The prize was delivered by John B. Lavelle, Vice President of Projects at GE Power&Water, and accepted by the Director of Business Development, Fernando Teigell, and the Middle East Director, Joaquín Sans, on behalf of the Company. Iberdrola Ingeniería is one of the main partners of General Electric (GE), having installed more than 30 "heavy duty" turbines on four continents in just ten years. The biggest project handled by this partnership is the 2000 MW combined-cycle power plant built in Qatar which was opened last May by the Emir of that country, Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani. This plant boasts six GE 9 FA gas turbines, three GE D11 condensing steam turbines and two dual GE 6B gas-diesel turbines. The award follows that for the 'Best Business Model Award 2010' given by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce in the Gulf last July, in recognition of the company's business model in the region. This latter prize was presented by the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce in the Gulf, Sheikh Salah Bin Abdallah Kamel, and delivered during the holding of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Outlook Forum 2010. This event was held this year in Doha (Qatar) and, on its thirtieth anniversary, brought together more than one thousand companies from five continents, as well as leaders from the region, such as the Emir of Qatar and the President of Lebanon. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
