| SNC-Lavalin awarded copper contract in Saudi Arabia SNC-Lavalin, a large Canadian engineering firm, announce that it has been awarded a contract by Bariq Mining to provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for the Jabal Sayid copper concentrator project located in Saudi Arabia. The project has an estimated pre-production capital cost of approximately US$300 million. SNC-Lavalin's mandate includes ore crushing, conveying and stockpiling facilities; facilities for concentrating, storage and loading; as well as mine infrastructure including power, water and tailings disposal facilities. The processing plant will be designed for a nominal production rate of 3.0 Mtpa. SNC-Lavalin's Brisbane office will carry out the work in collaboration with its office in Saudi Arabia for local coordination.
