Bilfinger Berger acquires Rotring Engineering

German builder Bilfinger Berger has acquired all shares in Rotring Engineering AG, a globally active specialist in fuel gas systems for oil and gas fired power plant turbines. The company, located near Hamburg, generates an annual output volume of approximately €30 million and is highly profitable. The parties have agreed not to disclose details of the purchase price of the company, which had previously been owned primarily by management. The acquisition is subject to approval from the relevant antitrust authorities.

As a supplier to the power plant industry, Rotring occupies a leading position in its market segment. Its product range includes the design, delivery and installation of complete systems for the processing of liquid and gaseous fuels. The company's clients include well-known players in the power plant industry such as Siemens, Alstom, ABB and GE.

In the last financial year, Bilfinger Berger generated an output volume of more than €1 billion in the Power Services business segment. Activities in this segment are the most profitable in the Group.
