JGC awarded LNG receiving terminal project in Japan

Japan's JGC Corp has been awarded the Hachinohe LNG Terminal Project in Aomori prefecture, Japan by JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation. JCG will perform EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) and assistance services for commissioning work under a lump-sum turnkey scheme.

The project encompasses the construction of two LNG tanks with a capacity of 140,000 cubic meters each, unloading facilities for LNG tankers, loading facilities for coastal tankers, regasification facilities, loading facilities for tank cars, etc. JGC will take charge of all EPC work excepting the LNG tank erection and part of the marine civil work. The construction site is located at the Port Island of Hachinohe City in Japan's Aomori prefecture. The terminal will start operation in April 2015.
