| New collection of AGC glasses at the Interieur fair in Kortrijk  Award-winning Belgian architect and designer Alain Berteau is launching a collection of eight differently patterned enamelled glasses for Brussels-based AGC, intended not only for traditional decorative applications, but also for a number of practical uses. The Functional Patterns range uses the Artlite Digital glass-printing technique recently developed by AGC.The eight patterns designed by Alain Berteau fall into four categories: - Grilles (Grids): the two glasses under this category, Notes and Centimeters, have been painstakingly measured to serve both decorative and functional purposes. The glasses can be used as writing, drawing, measuring or cutting surfaces. For instance, combined with other types of AGC glass such as the Lacobel and Matelux dark ranges, these glasses serve as an ideal blackboard. - Optiques (Perspectives): this category comprises Dots and Stripes, two glasses which offer variable degrees of transparency and can be used in double glazing to create a dynamic water effect or in partitions, doors or facades. - Organiques (Organic): this category includes the Wireframe and Net glasses, whose delicate appearance produces a slight sense of depth and an impression of relief, an effect which is accentuated in double glazing. - Tissés (Woven): this category covers two subtle and evocative glasses, Fibers and Textile. The prints not only add a hint of warmth to glasses used in furniture and partitions, but also work particularly well with other materials such as stone, wood or fabrics.
