| Mott MacDonald to deliver landmark retail village in Moscow, Russia Mott MacDonald has been appointed to monitor construction of the 38,000m², US$160million, Outlet Village fashion outlet on the outskirts of Moscow. This appointment follows on from the consultancy's initial appointment as building services and structural designer by developers Hines and Belaya Dacha. The Outlet Village has fully pedestrianised streets and will be made up of several large buildings, each containing many self-contained retail units. The village is being constructed with the environment in mind and during construction the contractor will be monitoring both water consumption and waste, including carbon dioxide. Sustainable materials are to be used and Mott MacDonald has also specified materials with high insulation values to reduce life time energy consumption. The project is being designed and built to achieve Building Research Establishment (BRE) Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) certification for sustainable development.
