Ditec sectional doors move the new ATM devices in Milan

The south entrance to Milan is a heavily-trafficked road and railway hub at all times of the day and night. It is here that the ring road leading to the A1 motorway intersects the classic Autostrada del Sole, the East ring road, the various railway lines leading south, including the new High Speed lines, and a dual carriageway, the classic Via Emilia. From here, the new metropolitan line 3 also leads off, the terminal of which is San Donato, as well as the two main routes into the city centre.

Right next to this pulsing heart of the 'city that moves' there is an area covering a total surface area of 65,000 m² that ATM, Azienda Trasporti Milanesi, has given over to a logistical service centre for its land transport means: a large depot for 250 buses and coaches, a building devoted to the automatic washing of vehicles, another large building for use as a workshop and vehicle recovery and an office block, all standing before an enormous parking area.

The entire project has been developed considering various different environmental compatibility solutions, including the installation of a 420 kW photovoltaic plant and other systems of high technological value, such as: a system for supervising thermal plants, a fleet management system to monitor fuel supplies and vehicle consumptions, a centralised drainage system for diesel and a system that both controls leaks from the underground hot water pipes and automatically cleans the base of the washing tank.

In this unique context, Ditec has been chosen as main contractor to supply all industrial doors closing the entrances to garages and vehicle workshops and the washing building.

According to the intended purpose, different door types have been installed:
• in the main building, the actual depot, the super tried and tested, ultra-elegant automatic doors Lisbon and paned doors Gold Alu have been installed, in imposing dimensions (7x6 h m.)
• the building given over to automatic washing has been completed with two Gold Alu sectional entrance and exit doors, again in special sizes
• other rapid roll-up doors, Sector and Smart, have been installed in other internal operative areas.

The client's choice fell to Ditec thanks to the known reliability of the products that, once installed, require no particular maintenance and repair works as they have been especially designed for intense, heavy-duty use.

Furthermore, all Ditec solutions, including those offered for industry, take due consideration of the structural and architectonic impact in which they are installed. Whether automations or complete automatic entrances, Ditec automatic doors have been designed to blend into the context requiring minimum space. And there is another important feature not to be forgotten: the significant level of thermal and acoustic insulation offered by the doors.

Once again, Ditec demonstrates the reliability of a brand at the technological cutting edge in the world of automated entrances, and this latest key project bears further witness to this.
