Hochtief announces contracts in Asia, America and Eastern Europe

Hochtief subsidiaries have been awarded new contracts in Asia, America and Eastern Europe worth almost EUR 218 million through their local branches. Leighton Asia is due to construct an interchange in Hong Kong for over EUR 130 million (AUD 180 million). The US subsidiary Turner Construction will manage the construction of three schools in Los Angeles. The contract value totals almost EUR 78 million (USD 102 million). Hochtief Polska has also signed a contract for the expansion of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw with a net total value of around EUR 10 million (PLN 39.7 million).

The infrastructure project awarded to Leighton Asia comprises two bridges, a cut and cover tunnel and an approach ramp in Hong Kong's commercial centre. The interchange, which is scheduled for completion by 2016, will be linked directly to another tunnel already under construction by Leighton since 2003. In Los Angeles, Turner Construction will construct two elementary schools and one high school with space totaling over 24,500 square meters. The projects are due to be completed in September and November 2012. Hochtief Polska will expand the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts by spring 2012, adding a new building that will occupy an area of more than 13,000 square meters.
