| Ferrovial to build new bridge in Kwidzyn (Poland) Spanish builder Ferrovial, through Ferrovial Agroman's Polish subsidiary Budimex, has signed a contract with Poland's General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways to build a bridge over the Vistula River, close to Kwidzyn, in northern Poland. The bridge will be one of the new accesses to national road 90. The contract is worth 250.8 million zlotys (approximately 64 million euro). Construction of the bridge will begin in October and take twenty-seven months. Budimex will build the main bridge, which will span 808 meters and link national road 1, on the west bank, with national road 55, on the east. The contract includes bridge construction as well as improvements to the main roads and links among various local roads. It also includes repair of the flood containment dykes and refurbishment of water, gas, electricity and sewage infrastructure. Budimex, Ferrovial Agroman's Polish subsidiary, obtained 367.3 million euro in revenues in the first six months of 2010, and its backlog totalled 1.836 billion euro at the end of the period, i.e. up 40% with respect to the same period in 2009. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
