| Aecon to expand Highway 11 Aecon Group Inc., Canada's largest publicly traded construction company, announced that its Infrastructure division has been awarded a $32.9 million contract by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) to expand Highway 11, near North Bay, Ontario. Under the contract, Aecon will complete a four-lane 24.2 km expansion of Highway 11 beginning 3.5 km south of Highway 124 at Sundridge, and ending 8.3 km north of Ottawa Avenue at South River. Work on the project includes grading, drainage, illumination and paving. Construction has already begun and is expected to be complete by September, 2011. Between 2006 and 2008, Aecon completed a $54 million MTO contract with Leo Alarie and Sons for the new alignment of Highway 11 at Burk's Falls, near Huntsville.
