| InnoTrans to feature some international premieres Trade visitors attending InnoTrans 2010 from 21 to 24 September can expect an outstanding array of products making their debut there: Numerous exhibitors from home and abroad have announced the premieres of products on the German, European and world markets during this event in Berlin. Innovative products and services will be making their debut in all areas of the world's leading trade fair for rail transport technology. Some of the major systems suppliers will be staging world premieres in Berlin at the start of the autumn. Among them will be Bombardier Transportation, which will be showing its super-high speed train, the ZEFIRO 380, to the assembled international experts. The makers point out that it sets new standards in terms of comfort, eco-friendliness and efficiency. The PRIMOVE system, which dispenses with overhead wires, is an innovative technology for city trains and trams, which supplies power without the need for contacts or wires. The ALP-45 locomotive from Bombardier Transportation is powered by the MITRAC hybrid electric and diesel system, providing an almost seamless transition between electrified and non-electrified lines. Siemens Mobility has carried out various improvements to its high-speed Velaro D trainset, with a more aerodynamic housing for the roof-mounted equipment, bogies and inter-car gangways, as well as a redesigned spoiler, nose and roof. Aiming for greater flexibility for European passenger and freight services, the company has designed its new, modular Vectron locomotive for AC, DC or multi-system operation, enabling it to run on four different voltage systems and in a variety of performance categories. With their own world premieres the specialist suppliers are demonstrating that they can be just as innovative as the major global players. The high performance BORDLINE CC1500 compact power converter from the Swiss group ABB Railways is intended for the double-deck railcars operated by the S-Bahn Zurich light rail system. The high definition, colour Geameleon display board from AEG Gesellschaft für moderne Informationssysteme mbH will be used on stations to indicate the position of individual carriages. The maintenance software zedas asset from Switzerland's ENOTRAC AG is provided with an interface for automatically importing wheel profile and diameter data. The water mist extinguishing systems from FOGTEC Brandschutz use extremely small droplets to fight fires and thus require up to ten per cent less water than conventional methods. Dual mode capability and IP-65 protection are among the outstanding features of the new GSM-R and UIC-FOCX hand-held radios from Hörmann Funkwerk Kölleda GmbH. The new Mini FG series from Hypertac offers modular contacts for fibre optics, high-speed ethernet, twinax, quadrax and standard hyperboloide signal contacts. The RLFZ mountings from icotek separate the functions of screening and strain relief in compliance with the VDE standard. The compact, electronic "GEL 2510" odometer from Lenord, Bauer & Co. GmbH monitors the mileage of cars or wheelsets. The Sintono Terra range of lubricants from LUBRICANT CONSULT offers good braking and traction as well as substantially reduced noise levels. A built-in boarding system for wheel-chair users and others of restricted mobility is being exhibited by MediVent for the first time anywhere in the world at InnoTrans 2010. It combines improved comfort and safety with reduced dispatching times. The zedas cargo Resource Manager from PC Soft supports the entire planning and disposition processes for shunting and scheduled services for locomotives, personnel, track and rolling stock. iWink from the Italian company Reicom Srl is the first self-configurable, wireless, Ethernet-equivalent coach-to-coach interlink. In winter the lightweight, compact and efficient heated floor panel developed by the two companies, Winkler GmbH and Metawell GmbH, provides evenly distributed heating of carriages and ensures that passengers can enter and leave the train in safety. RAIL.ONE has announced a road-vehicle access system, installed onto a rail system for rolling stock, which is making its European debut at this trade fair. Making its first appearance in Germany is a track-to-train video system from the English company Ogier Electronics which can guarantee the complete elimination of interference between camera and display. Also making its domestic debut is the new CARD/1 module from IB&T Ingenieurbüro Basedow & Tornow GmbH, which can be used to conduct dynamic tests on the track axis in accordance with the current DBAG directive 800.0110. Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH is presenting the proto-type of an electronic be-in/be-out counting system known as ESPRIT. This provides a highly intelligent fare calculation system which is ideal for all types of trains and can also be used without any problem in underground and light railways, with their high passenger throughput. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
