United in Moscow: refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps

Chillventa Rossija celebrates its premiere in March 2011. The special feature of this event is that it is the first exhibition for the Russian market that completely represents refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps. Petra Wolf, Member of the Management Board and responsible for international business at NürnbergMesse, and Meike Krüger, Project Manager of Chillventa Rossija, provide an outlook on the eagerly awaited first event. This takes place in the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center in Moscow from 1–3 March 2011.

How did NürnbergMesse come to organize a refrigeration and air conditioning exhibition in Moscow?

Petra Wolf: "First we have more than three decades of extensive experience of this field in Nürnberg and know how to organize special-interest and professional exhibitions. Not only in our own country, but wherever we think there is a suitable market for one of our exhibition concepts. Second we're no newcomers to Russia. We have been actively involved with this theme in the Russian market for some time now. On the positive side, we have already organized successful events like the CholodExpo Rossija, a refrigeration exhibition held twice in Moscow, plus the successful CholodSummit Rossija 2010, the conference with accompanying foyer expo, whose core topic was innovative refrigeration in the food industry."

What is the advantage of Chillventa Rossija?

Petra Wolf: "The big advantage is that it is also dedicated to air conditioning and heat pumps and not just refrigeration. This is unique in the Russian exhibition market.

Another advantage is that we can draw on the excellent contacts we have through Chillventa in Nürnberg at any time. And finally the wish of many companies for an extensive business platform reflecting refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps encouraged us to tackle Chillventa Rossija in Moscow and establish it as a permanent event for the Russian market. I am convinced our concept is exactly right for the Russian market, but the sector can obtain its own impressive picture in March 2011."

Chillventa Rossija takes place from 1–3 March 2011. Is this not a very short time after the event in Nürnberg, which approaches the same target group?

Petra Wolf: "No. Chillventa Rossija is tailored to the Russian market and designed so that the two exhibitions do not affect each other. After organizing two successful CholodExpos and the CholodSummit, it is our experience that the March date is the best for the Russian market. This is also confirmed by our exhibitors, and by the associations and experts involved."

Chillventa Rossija was launched during the CholodSummit Rossija in Moscow. Are you satisfied with the development of the exhibition so far?

Meike Krüger: "Today, a good three-quarters of a year before Chillventa Rossija, we are satisfied with the response. I am confident that we will achieve the targets set. Many international companies have already confirmed their presence and stands, likewise Russian players in the sector.

With Chillventa here in Nürnberg in October, we also have an excellent advertising platform for extensively promoting Chillventa Rossija, for which we have a variety of activities planned. But the main thing here is that we have another opportunity to talk intensively to the international associations and our many good contacts, the exhibiting companies. The network we can draw on at Chillventa is also an outstanding advantage for the event in Moscow. We will naturally carry on advertising until the exhibition in order to offer the best possible business platform for the trade visitors at the exhibitions and the conference participants."

Can you mention a few names?

Meike Krüger: "Certainly. Well-known key players at the event include Alfa Laval, Bitzer, Bock, Eliwell, Farmina, FRASCOLD, GEA Ecoflex, GEA Grasso, Güntner, Morena, Officine Mario Dorin, Olex Holding, Ostrov, Quadrotek, TEKO, ZANOTTI and Ziehl-Abegg. There are also many companies exhibiting in the Chinese and German pavilions."

What special attractions can visitors expect at the exhibition?

Petra Wolf: "It is important for us that we offer the Russian sector the most comprehensive business platform possible, as at Chillventa in Nürnberg. In addition to an exhibition, this means the opportunity for dialogue, an exchange of views at a high level and professional discussion. This is why the exhibition will be accompanied by a very high-ranking and concentrated conference programme focusing on topics like energy efficiency, which is also an enormously important issue in Russia.

To meet the high demands on such a conference, we have set up a separate advisory board responsible for the choice of topics and speakers. As members of this board, we have gained key personalities and associations in the Russian refrigeration and air conditioning industry, who will ensure the high quality of the conference. The keynotes were set at its first meeting, so the body of experts has already started work and will now attend to the detailed conference programme."

What keynotes have been chosen for the conference?

Meike Krüger: "We want to offer the conference participants an in-depth and interesting but nevertheless broad-based programme covering energy efficiency. This will deal with topics such as 'Energy-efficient plants and energy-saving technical solutions for refrigeration and air conditioning' or 'Natural and new refrigerants: today and in the future. Improvement of the energy efficiency of industrial plants using natural refrigerants', to mention just two examples.

One of the top European associations has also confirmed its intention to take part in the conference programme at Chillventa Rossija. Experts from the Association of European Refrigeration Compressor and Controls Manufacturers (ASERCOM) will contribute their know-how in their presentations. The programme will be available online on the Chillventa Rossija website as soon as the advisory board has completed it, probably at the beginning of November."

Where do you see Chillventa Rossija in the future?

Petra Wolf: "Together with Chillventa in Nürnberg, the European Heat Pump Summit, ACREX INDIA and perhaps one or another new event, Chillventa Rossija will form a worldwide, interactive refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump network of unique quality. It will be the most important, most extensive and most convincing sector and dialogue platform for its field in the Russian-speaking regions."
