| FCC to build new section of Poland's A1 toll road Poland's General Directorate for National Roads and Highways (GDDKiA) has awarded FCC subsidiary Alpine Bau GmbH a 140 million euro contract to complete the section of the A1 toll road between Świerklany and Gorzyczki. The section of the road measures 18.3 kilometres extending from the Świerklany junction to Gorzyczki on the southern border with the Czech Republic. The project includes the construction of two junctions, two rest areas, 31 bridges and, most notably, a 380-metre long cable-stayed bridge. This contract comes just days after the company clinched the deal to build the S5 expressway, also in Poland, worth 245 million euro.
