| PERI: Integrated safety without additional components PERI UP differs from conventional scaffolding in particular through the open frame construction with T-shaped frames and the integrated protection against lifting in the decking. This design allows the scaffolder to install frames and guardrails at the same time from one scaffolding level – with complete side protection. After installing the decking, the next level can be accessed; with protection provided by the guardrails already in position, further erection of the scaffold is carried out very quickly. This enhancement of safety on the jobsite is achieved without any additional components or extra effort and is therefore extremely cost-effective. In this way, PERI UP fulfils the minimum requirements regarding work equipment for temporary work at a height according to the German "Technische Regel für Betriebssicherheit TRBS 2121" (Technical Rules for Industrial Safety), Appendix 2, Section 5.1.2. Assembly with PERI UP is especially economical: thanks to the guardrail in advance, no rope protection is required, and the integrated safety in the system ensures a high daily output by the scaffolding gang. A working height up to 6.30 m is possible with a one-man assembly. With larger distances to the adjacent wall, a guardrail can be mounted on the inner side of the scaffold – without requiring any additional components. PERI UP stands for a particularly user-friendly working procedure: the T frames have a low net weight of only 14 kg and, in connection with the offset spigots, are very easy to install. The steel decking is available in lengths of up to 400 cm; the weight of the 300 cm long decking is only 19 kg. PERI UP is flexible and has a high load-bearing capacity: It is available in 72 cm and 104 cm system widths (PERI UP T 72/T 104) and with bay widths of 72 cm, 104 cm, 150 cm, 200 cm, 250 cm, 300 cm and 400 cm. PERI UP T 72 can be used up to Load Class 3 (200 kg/m²), with inner console brackets also up to Load Class 4 (300kg/m²). For 250 cm bay widths, PERI UP T 104 can be used up to the Load Class 6 (600 kg/m²), and up to Load Class 5 (450 kg/m ²) for 300 cm bay widths. An advantage during use: the integrated protection against lifting in the decking allows the subsequent installation and removal of individual scaffold decks at any position on the scaffolding. There are new and efficient possibilities for the storage and transport of building materials on and through the scaffold. With the use of the console bracket, the anchor is positioned directly under the decking transom which means the greatest possible passage height is maintained. Simple anchor logic: the grid dimension of all anchors with PERI UP is the 8 m offset anchor arrangement. With the installation of supplementary components such as console brackets or protection roofs, easy to understand additional anchor measures are required. For higher scaffolding assemblies, there is also an anchor logic - the 8 m offset anchor arrangement with additional measures in the lower floors applies. With this, a guideline is provided that can be easily implemented and is simple to check. With technical approval or type-tested structural analysis: approval was given for PERI UP T 72 and T 104 with guardrail in advance by the German Institute for Civil Engineering (Z-8.1-865 / Z-8.1-916). Type-tested static calculations cover applications outside of the standard design in accordance with the approval; for example, the erection of very high scaffolding or the use of PERI UP T 72 in Load Class 4. Well thought-out details result in space and cost-savings during transportation. The PERI UP T-frame can be stacked with and without pallets thus saving valuable space and also reduces transportation volumes. The pallets themselves simplify storage, commissioning and loading. An important advantage for PERI customers is the working method and competence of the Weißenhorn-based company: PERI sees itself not only as a mere supplier but far more as a partner of the user – from the offer phase to beyond the completion of the project. The range of services includes project-related planning and calculations as well as providing comprehensive support in the project execution. The technical, commercial and logistical services help the customers to increase the cost-effectiveness and safety during the implementation of the construction project. Apart from seminars and workshops, PERI also provides a comprehensive selection of technical documentation. The assembly instructions, for example, are valuable aids for scaffolders with erection instructions, practical tips and design tables. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
