| Debris Series Recycled Tile with new express offering Fireclay Tile, a sustainable California manufacturer of innovative ceramic tile, announced that it has enhanced its line of Debris Series Recycled Tile offering with its new Express Series Quickship Tile. The Express Series features six new contemporary glaze colors in their three most popular field sizes (3x6, 4x4, and 6x6), along with standard trim and select decorative accents to complete any project. In reflection to the growing awareness about the environment in which we live in today, Fireclay Tile continues to increase the sustainable materials and practices in the company's tile designs. Fireclay's recycled tile products now contain over 62% locally sourced recycled materials, creating one of the most beautiful, environmentally friendly ceramic products on the market. The Express Series is Fireclay's next step in providing customers a unique, sustainable recycled tile option in a more convenient way. "We surveyed our customers in 2009 and across the board they asked for a recycled tile line that was available quickly and that was less expensive," said Paul Burns, Fireclay's Founder and Chief Ceramicist. "Working with our glaze master and production manager, we developed a process that allowed us to retain our commitment to using recycled materials to produce a beautiful, high quality ceramic tile, but that could be manufactured more efficiently, meaning a lower cost to the customer. Our normal lead time is four weeks, as each order we make is unique to the customer, but with our new Express Series we can ship your order in under one week." Manufactured in Northern California, Fireclay Tile's recycled tile products, including the Debris Series and Express Series, uses over 62% locally sourced recycled materials. These materials include recycled waste glass made up of bag-house dust collected from local glass recyclers, recycled granite dust from a neighboring granite quarry, and recycled spent abrasives leftover from cleaning the Hetch Hetchy water pipes that transport water to the City of San Francisco from Yosemite Valley. All products are handmade within Fireclay's day-lit, open air factory where the company reuses all possible including clays, glazes and waste water. The result is a unique ceramic clay body containing more post-consumer and pre-consumer waste than any other tile on the market. The Express Series is available immediately and qualifies for numerous LEED Points, similar to the company's Debris Series. These include points for low-emitting materials, use of recycled materials, and regional manufacturing. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
