Project completion is foreseen by June 2013 when the plant goes into production. The total investment for the project is approximately US$1.5 billion and it will serve to increase the installed capacity of the Vargem Grande Mining Complex by 10 million tons per year. Besides the construction of a new iron ore enrichment plant, the project includes the expansion of the railway terminal, while also increasing the iron ore stockyard handling capacity up to 65 million tons per year. The new enrichment plant will be linked to the stockyard by a long distance conveyor belt, 5 km in length, to be built as part of the VGI project. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
