| Cat TH514 telehandler The new Cat TH514 telehandler is a robust and versatile machine with a load capacity of 4990 kg, forward reach of 9.2 m and with stabilizers in the down position, the machine provides lift height of 13.7 m. The TH514 Telehandler is ideal for general construction and industrial markets, as well as specialty markets including power plants and wind farm applications. Load-sensing, flow-sharing hydraulics allow for all three boom functions to be operated simultaneously and proportionally. The system provides smooth control of the boom and work tools for increased accuracy, especially when placing loads in challenging applications. The 74.5 kW Cat C4.4 DITAAC mechanical control, turbo charged engine is standard and certified to Stage IIIA (Tier3) emission regulations. This engine is designed to provide excellent power and torque levels to meet jobsite requirements. As standard, a limited slip differential fitted in the front axle allows the machines to work effectively in tough conditions. The new cab is comfortable and stylish with all-around visibility, and features a new heating and ventilation system with optional air conditioning. The single lever joystick with roller switches is easy to use, and all controls, including auxiliary hydraulics, are fully proportional. An in-cab LCD displays a wide range of information, and the keypad can be used to select various operating modes, including three different steering modes. "Field feedback has been very positive," said Ky Kuehling, VP Product Parent, Cat Telehandlers. "Operators like the machine's power, how quiet it is when in operation, its single joystick controls with smooth boom in/out and up/down functions, and overall ground clearance. And with the machine's low boom pivot, it gives the operator the visibility he needs to place loads with precision." A range of Cat work tools extends the versatility of the machines. A high visibility manual IT coupler comes as standard, with the option of a hydraulic quick coupler to allow work tool changes without leaving the cab. Service points are readily accessible and major components are at ground level. Service access points are conveniently located under the engine cover, and routine daily maintenance is now reduced to checking fluid levels and a walk-around inspection. The TH514 Telehandler is easier to maintain and benefits from the Cat dealer support network. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
