Amec selected for project in Canada

Amec, the international engineering and project management company, announced that Terrane Metals Corp. has chosen British Columbia Mining Joint Venture (BCMJV), a 50:50 joint venture between Fluor and Amec, to provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) services for Terrane's 100 percent-owned Mt. Milligan copper-gold project in Canada.

The Mt. Milligan project, which overall will cost Cdn$915 million, is located approximately 150 kilometres northwest of Prince George, British Columbia and will provide about 400 direct permanent jobs and significant long-term economic benefits for the region.

BCMJV will provide EPCm services for a 60,000 tonnes per day copper flotation process plant, tailings storage facility, ancillary plant facilities, 92 kilometres of electric power transmission lines and a 600-person construction camp in the remote location.
