| Zumtobel Lighting invests in its Dornbirn plant Zumtobel Lighting, a member of the Zumtobel Group and leading international supplier of integral lighting solutions, has made significant investments in the production facilities at its site in Schweizer Straße / Dornbirn. Over the past six months, over EUR 3 million has been invested in new tooling and over EUR 1.5 million in new welding and injection moulding equipment for manufacturing the latest generation of Mellow Light V luminaires. The new equipment has now gone into service. Production of the predecessor model, Mellow Light III, is to be phased out in the next few weeks while the manufacture of Mellow Light IV will continue. The new luminaire Mellow Light V is almost 30 per cent more efficient than its predecessor. Alongside the continuous-row lighting system Tecton, Mellow Light luminaires rank among the key revenue drivers at the Dornbirn plant. In addition to the fluorescent lamp versions, Mellow Light V will also be produced in an LED version at the Schweizer Straße site and is scheduled for market launch in autumn 2010. Mellow Light V is the state-of-the-art development of the successful Mellow Light concept, and cannot fail to impress with its unrivalled efficiency. With a light output ratio of up to 87%, Mellow Light V is almost 30 per cent more efficient than its predecessor. The increased efficiency is based on a combination of improvements in the optics, diffuser and thermal management. The luminaire is available both as an LED version with stable white light and with conventional fluorescent lamp technology. Developed twenty years ago by Zumtobel, this concept played a major role in revolutionising conventional office lighting. The latest generation of Mellow Light luminaires features an impressive design which combines the soft stylistic idiom of Milan-based designer James Irvine with uncompromising lighting technology. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
