ENERGY STAR-rated roofing products from CertainTeed

At CertainTeed Corporation, the options for aesthetically pleasing green roofing products continues to grow, with three new asphalt shingle products achieving ENERGY STAR certification. Landmark Solaris IR solar reflective, impact resistant roofing shingles as well as Landmark and Landmark Premium shingles in Silver Birch are the newest additions to the company's portfolio of 50 ENERGY STAR-rated roofing products. "CertainTeed's robust portfolio of energy-efficient roofing products is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility," says Bob Gardiner, vice president of marketing for CertainTeed Roofing. "Our ENERGY STAR-certified shingles and our low-slope commercial roofing systems contribute to more sustainable homes and buildings and are available in a broad array of styles and options that complement a wide range of architectural styles and performance requirements."

Offered in a range of natural colors and earth tones, Landmark Solaris IR shingles feature reflective granules that can reduce a roof's temperature by as much as 20 percent. The shingles are engineered with a tough fiberglass scrim for increased durability and are backed by a 50-year limited transferable warranty.

Using a unique color-blending technique to create a dimensional look, Landmark roofing shingles in Silver Birch are backed by a 30-year limited transferable warranty. The Landmark Premium shingle in Silver Birch features the same eye-catching gray hue with lifetime warranty protection.

All of the shingles offer the exceptional value of the industry's toughest fiberglass mat and are available with additional SureStart full protection coverage and wind warranty upgrades.

For the past two years, CertainTeed has been recognized as the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for Energy Management by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This prestigious award recognizes CertainTeed for its accomplishments and leadership in reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency at its facilities. At CertainTeed roofing plants, the manufacturing process maximizes the use of raw materials by recycling nearly 90 percent of waste into asphalt materials for road construction. In addition, many of CertainTeed's roofing products contribute to LEED certification and are eligible for energy efficiency tax credits through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
