Bouygues Construction wins PPP contract in Canada

Bouygues Construction subsidiaries Bouygues Bātiment International and ETDE, as members of the Green Timbers Accommodation Partners consortium, recently signed a contract for the financing, design and construction of the new Royal Canadian Mounted Police "E" Division Headquarters in Surrey, British Columbia, along with operation and maintenance for 25 years. Worth a total of 450 million euros (175 million euros for design and build and 275 million euros for operation and maintenance), this contract is the second public-private partnership contract won by the Group in this province, after the Surrey hospital in October 2008.

The 76,000 m² facility comprises three buildings situated on a 14 hectare site. It will accommodate 2,700 police officers and civilian staff who are currently spread out over different sites throughout the province.

The works, which were launched recently, will employ 450 people during the peak period and are scheduled to last two and a half years (32 months), with completion planned in late 2012. ETDE FM Canada will then be responsible for operating the buildings and for maintenance activities for a period of 25 years.
