Lend Lease delivers interactive sustainable building tool

Lend Lease has developed a state-of-the-art interactive sustainability tool based on green building solutions it has delivered around the world. The Green Building Converter takes users on a journey providing information on the environmental impact of the built environment while allowing choices to be made to green new and existing buildings.

Unveiled at the Shanghai World Expo 2010, Lend Lease developed The Green Building Converter as part of its Gold Sponsorship of the Australian Pavilion – showcasing Australia's innovation in design and environmental technology.

The Green Building Converter demonstrates that through innovative design, technologies and skills available today, the Expo's theme of 'Better Cities Better Life' is achievable today.

Australia is recognised as a leader in the development of world-class green buildings and Lend Lease has been instrumental in this, having delivered Australia's first 5 Star Green Star and 6 Star Green Star buildings, The Bond and The Gauge in Sydney and Melbourne respectively.

The Green Building Converter uses 'green toolkits' and 'building scenarios' to provide the user with what is required to achieve a green building or green city.

The Green Building Converter is currently being showcased in the Australia Pavilion at the Shanghai 2010 World Expo which opened officially on 1 May. The Australia Pavilion has a number of green design aspects as part of Lend Lease's sponsorship contribution - including solar panel heating, rainwater harvesting and energy saving smart lighting and controls.
