New Zipline Fixture Assembly Solution

Leviton Manufacturing Company's revolutionary new Zipline Fixture Assembly Solution affords the fastest, easiest and most flexible way to manufacture linear fluorescent lighting fixtures on the market today. Zipline's groundbreaking design incorporates the ballast and lampholders in a single, self-contained assembly unit that installs in just seconds. This offers considerable labor- and cost-savings over traditional, more cumbersome multi-component ballast and socket designs.

Zipline mounts transversely into a molded, one-piece lampholder system, bypassing the need to install and wire ballast and socket components separately. Zipline's unique ballast, featuring Fulham Inc.'s superior technology, replaces traditional center-mounted ballasts and wiring assemblies, and provides manufacturers the freedom for any number of new photometric design possibilities within their fixtures. With Zipline's prewired ballast and lampholder assembly, manufacturers save time and eliminate common mis-wiring errors, wires loosening from sockets during assembly, shunt/non-shunt socket misapplications and other common quality issues. In addition, socket bars and ballast covers are no longer needed.

Zipline avoids the need for manufacturers to purchase separate lampholder and ballast components or to maintain and inventory individual SKU's, thus streamlining the manufacturing process from procurement through final assembly. The Zipline design also simplifies repair and maintenance since contractors can quickly and easily replace either side of the assembly without having to remove a ballast cover, cut or splice wires, rewire sockets and disassemble socket bars.

With easy installation and dramatic reduction in assembly time, Zipline is the ideal solution to deliver streamlined production and cost-savings for commercial and residential fixture manufacturers that use T8and T5 lamps. The commercial version complies with FCC Part 18, Class A and has a NEMA premium rating and Limited Five-Year Warranty. The Residential version complies with FCC Part 18, Class B and has a Limited Three-Year Warranty. Both versions are cULus rated. The T8 version is currently available. T5 versions will be available Q2 2011.
