Balfour Beatty trading in line with order book up to £14.1bn

Balfour Beatty, the UK construction group, announced its interim results for the period ended 11 May 2010. Its trading performance in 2010 to date is consistent with its expectations for the year.

Balfour Beatty said its business is performing well, with a number of good contract wins, which has resulted in the order book moving ahead of the 2009 year-end figure of £14.1 billion.

Balfour, which has a market value of 1.7 billion pounds, said U.S. project management firm Parsons Brinckerhoff, acquired last year, will make its first full-year contribution to its professional services business in 2010.
