| Efficient complete solution with expert service Currently, a new headquarters with extremely impressive dimensions is being developed in Munich for the ADAC – Europe´s largest automobile association. For this, the experienced Züblin construction team is having to work to a very tight schedule, supported by efficient PERI formwork and scaffolding solutions. For a cost-effective and time-saving project completion, PERI engineers have supplemented the comprehensively planned concept with an on-time and site-compliant service. As of autumn 2011, 2,400 employees – currently based at six different locations – will begin working in this impressive building complex. This is comprised of a five-storey undulating curved base structure with a large courtyard. The office tower with its rounded corners continues upwards for another 18 floors. An underground parking facility provides over 1,000 car parking spaces on three levels over. The bottom plate itself has a surface area of 17,000 m² and is between 1.40 m and 6.50 m thick. For the construction of the 93 m high office tower, the PERI RCS climbing protection panel provides reliable protection against wind and weather by completely enclosing the uppermost three storeys at any given time – and thereby increases the productivity of the construction crew. Forming of the core walls with TRIO panel formwork and the slab with SKYDECK panel slab formwork as well as the reinforcement work can therefore be safely carried out and overall construction progress accelerated. The RCS modular construction system could be optimally adapted here to match the project-specific requirements and all mounting parts for the subsequent facade assembly were also taken into consideration during the planning phase. For fast operational readiness of the up to 6 m wide climbing units was guaranteed through the provision of pre-assembled panels. The multi-storey building cantilevered by around 7 m in the direction of the railway line. Until steel composite columns could actually accommodate the structural loads after reaching the ninth floor, PERI UP shoring covering a length of 50 m temporarily carried these. For this, an intermediate level was created at a height of 18 m with the help of steel girders from which the cantilevered upper floor could be formed. For the construction of the slabs positioned above this HD 200 heavy-duty props provided shoring on each storey up to the intermediate level. The PERI UP shoring solution takes into consideration not only different loads between 65 and 190 kN/m but also changing cantilevers and different setting times. Furthermore, the 1.50 m x 1.50 m ground plan dimensions of the shoring towers were easily extended in 25 cm increments – depending on the load requirements – with the use of additional frames. Together with the planning and dimensioning, PERI engineers also compiled the verifiable static calculations for this – on the basis of the existing type test. For all reinforced concrete walls, PERI TRIO panel formwork is extremely versatile in its use: can be extended for heights of up to 14 m, with doubled formlining to meet architectural concrete requirements and, together with SB brace frames, for single-sided forming. In connection with the TRIO shaft panel, complete shaft internal formwork units can be used on all floors without requiring any modification or dismantling of individual elements. In addition, the TRIO could be combined with the RUNDFLEX circular formwork without any problems by means of the BFD alignment coupler as universal connecting means. The floor slabs of the base structure are formed with PERI modular and customised tables as well as the MULTIFLEX girder slab formwork. The rentable standard table modules could already be used in the basement for forming the 1.23 m thick reinforced concrete slab; however, these were strengthened with additional VT 20 formwork girders and PEP steel tube slab props. SKYDECK panel slab formwork is being used for the office tower. MULTIPROP aluminium slab props serve as temporary props. Due to the high load-bearing capacity, fewer props have to be installed – together with the low weight, this leads to enormous time-savings. Below shear walls, PERI HD 200 heavy-duty props supplement the supporting structure in order to be able to transfer linear loads of up to 400 kN/m into the bottom plate. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
