Pöyry signed contract for waste-to-energy project in China

Finland-based Pöyry has been awarded a contract for project consultancy services for the Nangong Waste Incineration Plant in Beijing, China. Pöyry will provide the services in cooperation with BMEDI as the local partner. Pöyry's share of the contract value is EUR 3 million.

Pöyry's tasks include design and project monitoring for the plant which is scheduled to start up at the end of 2014. This 1,000 ton/day plant will help reduce both the amount of waste to be landfilled, and the fossil fuel to be consumed. When completed, it will meet the latest international norms for environmental performance, and will be the landmark project of its kind in China.
