| Restoration Millwork Beadboard Panel Installing beadboard exterior trim is faster than ever, thanks to the introduction of CertainTeed Restoration Millwork Beadboard Panels. The new 4-foot by 8-foot panels install up to three times faster than standard beadboard and are ideal for finishing larger exterior areas, such as porch ceilings, soffit, wainscoting and other outdoor amenities. Made from cellular polyvinyl chloride (PVC), Restoration Millwork Beadboard Panels are engineered to look, feel and work like top-grade lumber. Unlike wood, however, the panels are made with a long-lasting, low-maintenance material that is resistant to rotting, warping, moisture and insects. The panels join Restoration Millwork's existing 5-1/2 inch beadboard, which continues to be well suited for smaller accent areas. "The larger size of the beadboard panel speeds up installation, and it also makes beadboard a more viable design option in finishing outdoor living spaces," says Phyllis Vail, director of marketing communications for the CertainTeed Siding Products Group. "From flower boxes to hot tub or deck surrounds, Restoration Millwork Beadboard Panels can be used to create a polished, finished look." The panels complement virtually all siding materials — including vinyl, fiber cement, wood, stucco and brick — and are offered in Natural White finish or can be custom painted. The shiplap edge on each panel, which allows two adjacent panels to seamlessly overlap, provides for a smooth transition between panels for a streamlined appearance. The panels can be cut using ordinary woodworking tools and fastened with nails or screws. In addition, the panels are highly resistant to yellowing caused by UV rays, feature a Class A (Class 1) flame spread classification and are backed by a 25-year limited warranty. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
