| Carillion JV awarded contracts in Abu Dhabi Al Futtaim Carillion has been awarded two contracts in Abu Dhabi worth around £110 million, bringing the total value of new contracts won by Al Futtaim Carillion in Abu Dhabi over the last two weeks to some £680 million. Mubadala Infrastructure, a business unit of Mubadala Development Company PJSC (Mubadala), has appointed Al Futtaim Carillion to deliver Stage 3 of the new UAE University project, which is being built in the city of Al Ain, worth in the region of £80 million. Stage 3 of the project will include academic buildings, recreational facilities and residential accommodation to provide first-class facilities for undergraduate students and university staff. The Stage 3 works also includes the phased demolition of existing buildings, which will help the UAE University to consolidate all its facilities onto a single site. Construction work will start in May 2010 and is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2011.
