Aqualia awarded contracts in Castilla-La Mancha

Spanish group Aqualia was recently awarded four new contracts and renewed two existing ones in Albacete, Toledo and Cuenca provinces, representing more than 27 million euro in revenues.

In Albacete, the company will provide drinking water distribution and sewage treatment services in the eastern Manchuela group of municipalities. It will also provide end-to-end water management services in Villamalea, by providing sewage treatment services in addition to its existing water supply contract.

In Toledo, Aqualia will provide end-to-end water management services in Gerindote, and in Cuenca it will provide drinking water services in Motilla del Palancar.

The company also renewed its concession in Olías del Rey (Toledo) for another fifteen years and expanded its distribution contract in Picadas (Toledo) to include maintenance of the drinking water distribution network, the drinking water treatment plant and the Seseña pumping station.

These contracts represent 27 million euro in revenues and enable Aqualia to strengthen its position in Castilla-La Mancha, where it is the leading water services company, serving 870, 000 people in 193 municipalities.

Aqualia heads the water division of FCC, one of Europe's leading citizen services companies.
