| Samsung Engineering and SMS sign Bahrain Steel plant contract On March 30th 2010, Samsung Engineering and SMS were formally awarded a $500 million USD steel plant order from SULB, a joint venture between Bahrain's Foulath and Japan's Yamato, invested by GIC (Gulf Investment Corporation). At the ceremony, Samsung Engineering officially signed for its $300 million USD contract. The lump-sum turn key project will produce 600,000 tons of steel in the plant facility, and will be located in the Bahraini capital of Mana, 14 km away from the Southeast Hidd region.
