| Impregilo to build a new Conference Hall in Tripoli Through the Impregilo Lidco joint venture formed by Impregilo, with a 60% share, and the Libyan Development Investment Co., Italy's largest construction firm Impregilo has signed a contract with the Organisation for Development of Administrative Centres (ODAC) to construct a Conference Hall in Tripoli. The contract is worth a total of approximately 285 million euro. Designed by architect Zaha Hadid, the new Conference Hall will include three halls for 3500, 1500 and 500 people, as well as public areas, restaurant facilities, offices, covered car-parks and technology control centres. The facility, to be completed in 2013, will be used not only for political and administrative meetings, but also for cultural events such as plays and concerts. The Conference Hall will be built along the coast in west Tripoli, between the new Central Business district, a new hotel complex on the coast and the Green Belt, a landscaped urban belt planned to surround the city. The important new award follows contracts for the construction of three new university campuses (Misurata, Zliten and Tarhunah) and for urbanisation works in the cities of Tripoli and Misurata, strengthening Impregilo's position in Libya, where, over the past twenty years, the Group has completed a number of prestigious works: the airports of Kufra, Benina, Misurata, El Wotia and Sirte, the ports of Ras Lanuf, Benghazi and Homs, the ministries and parliamentary buildings in Sirte, the industrial districts in the cities of Ras Lanuf and Misurata. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
