| Bovis Lend Lease to return to Melbourne Park Bovis Lend Lease has been appointed Managing Contractor for the $20 million 2010 works package at Melbourne Park. The $20 million 2010 works package is the initial component of Stage 1 of the Melbourne Park Redevelopment, which is valued at $363 million in total. The 2010 works package involves: the installation of a 4.5 mega-litre stormwater retention tank under the oval next to Rod Laver Arena; an extension and landscaping works to the Rod Laver Arena Western Concourse along Batman Avenue to house water treatment and water storage facilities, as well as the Australian Open marquees; a landscape upgrade to the Oval; new entry stairs to Rod Laver Arena; and improvements to the taxi rank on Olympic Boulevard. Bovis Lend Lease Victoria General Manager Geoff Moore said the company has a strong history of projects in the Melbourne Park precinct and is excited to be kicking off the major redevelopment. “Bovis Lend Lease is pleased to return to Melbourne Park, having delivered the Rod Laver Arena in the late 1980s, and to be a part of ensuring that the precinct continues to be one of the world’s premier sporting venues, ” Mr Moore said. Work on the water tank is expected to commence in late April.
