| ACS Group’s 2009 net profit up 8% Spanish construction to energy firm ACS said its turnover in 2009 amounted to €15,606 million, 2.2% more than the year before. International sales accounted for 26.3% of the total, representing a 22.4% increase. Gross operating profit (EBITDA) rose by 5.5% to €1,458 million, with a 9.3% sales margin. The net profit totalled €1,952 million, 8.1% more than in 2008. The listed subsidiaries, Abertis, Hochtief and Iberdrola, contributed €118 million to the net profit. Extraordinary earnings amounted to €1,002 million due to the sale of a 35.3% stake in Union Fenosa. Earnings per share rose by 15.6% to €6.28. This growth is due both to the earnings in the year and to the acquisition of treasury stock and successive capital consumptions. The net operating profit from continuing activities, that is, excluding the extraordinary earnings in the period and the contribution of interrupted activities, Union Fenosa and Servicios Portuarios y Logisticos, totalled €842 million, 20.4% more than the year before.
