| Residential 20A tamper-resistant receptacleses Leviton Manufacturing has expanded its line of residential tamper-resistant receptacles to make it easier for building professionals to meet new construction needs and comply with the 2008 National Electrical Code (NEC) changes. Ideal for new or renovated single-family homes, multi-family units, townhomes and apartments, the residential 20A tamper-resistant receptacles offer installers stylish, innovative solutions that comply with the 2008 NEC requirements. The new NEC changes mandate installation of tamper-resistant receptacles in all new residential construction. This requirement is a result of a Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) study that documented injuries in the home caused each year by children attempting to insert foreign objects into receptacles. The new cost-effective 20 Amp tamper-resistant receptacles are designed for residential homes that require a 20A receptacle. Available in traditional and Decora versions, the receptacles combine the performance of costlier devices at a lower price point. "After the 2008 National Electrical Code changes, we felt a responsibility to create more tamper-resistant receptacles for our customers," said James Sherman, director of residential marketing for Leviton Manufacturing. "We are pleased to adopt and incorporate this safety measure with an expanded product line that offers a wide range of tamper-resistant devices. Providing a full range of code compliant devices is just another way Leviton sets itself apart from the competition and offers superior customer service." The new offering is part of Leviton's commitment to keep up with trends and regulations and offer the broadest range of devices for every application need. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
