| Ryland board elects new chairman The board of directors of The Ryland Group, Inc., one of the US's largest homebuilders and a leading mortgage-finance company, announced the election of William L. Jews as chairman of the board of directors to succeed the current Chairman, R. Chad Dreier, after the annual meeting of stockholders on April 28, 2010. Mr. Dreier retired as chief executive officer of Ryland on May 29, 2009, and continued as chairman of the board of directors. Mr. Dreier will not stand for election as a director at the annual meeting of stockholders.
