| Cespa opens a packaging sorting plant in Barcelona Cespa, a subsidiary of Ferrovial Servicios, has opened a new packaging sorting plant in Hostalets de Pierola, Barcelona. The plant will process 15,000 tonnes of packaging a year, ensuring the selective treatment of these materials from the Baix Llobregat and Vallès Occidental regions. The packaging sorting plant, designed by Cespa's technical services department and constructed by Ferrovial Agroman, occupies an area of 4,205 m2 and is fully automated. The technologies developed will enable the recovery of up to 85% of the waste materials. The innovative facility boasts an unloading area with a capacity for 150 tonnes of materials; an optical detection system to separate paper, cardboard and cartons; as well as a magnetic separation system for ferrous materials and an inductive system for aluminum. It also includes a video-monitoring system that allows the entire process to be monitored. The plant is incorporated into the Integrated Treatment Center of Can Mata, Barcelona, where Cespa also operates a controlled landfill for class II waste, and is currently constructing the Ecoparque 4 treatment center. Cespa is one of the companies with largest presence in the services sector in Barcelona. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
