| Big Foot Systems Airtec, a manufacturer and importer of HVAC/R products, introduced Big Foot Systems, a labor-saving, aesthetic solution for supporting all types of HVAC/R equipment, ductwork, piping and other building services on flat roof applications without penetrating the roof membrane. Big Foot Systems is the new generation of alternative equipment mounting that replaces old-school methods of corrosion-prone landscape timbers or labor-intensive, welded metal fabrications on-site. Big Foot Systems consists of prefabricated 40mm corrosion-resistant, hot-dipped galvanized tube modules supported by 929cm2 UV-protected, glass-filled nylon footings with anti-vibration mat bases. Big Foot Systems is available in three standard module packages of 1.3mx1m; 1.3mx2m; or 1.3mx3m or custom-fabricated with free 48-hour design services to fit any equipment size, weight or configuration. Other features include: o Each footing has a vertical height adjustment range of 100mm for easy leveling. o Larger modules of 50mm or 50mmx100mm galvanized tubes are available for larger equipment of up to 10 tons. o Reroofing requires only removing one leg at a time to replace and lay new roofing membrane, which eliminates disruption to building HVAC services. The system's flexibility also allows easy change-outs or add-ons to existing equipment. o Clamps are available to lock down all types of HVAC equipment footings to the Big Foot Systems cross-bars. o Spans between footings can be easily widened or narrowed to accommodate weight-loading. o Accessories include dedicated and aesthetically coordinated H-frame systems for cable, busbars, piping and ductwork and other building services. Fix-it Foot is the product line's newest offering consisting of three sizes of rectangular recycled-rubber footings with a 40mm(W)x20(D)mm aluminum channel for affixing smaller equipment such as mini-split condensers and piping. Big Foot Systems is now available to the U.S. market and has been a popular choice among contractors and consulting engineers in Europe for several years with major applications such as BA terminal Heathrow Airport, London. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Construction News :: home page |
