Roof+Timber International 2010

At Roof+Timber International, taking place between 24 and 27 February 2010, many companies will again be taking the opportunity to showcase all their latest products and solutions.

Centrosolar AG, for example, is using the fair as a platform for presenting a photovoltaic system for flat roofs. The new idea behind it is that it is a photovoltaic module and mounting system combined. Despite being fitted at an angle, the system is only 118 mm high, and it manages to achieve significantly higher yields. Another advantage is the low self-weight of just five kilos per square metre. This makes the system ideal for use on lightweight roof constructions.

A solution for healthier living comes from fermacell. Their specially coated gypsum fibreboard absorbs pollutants from the air, such as formaldehyde or unpleasant odours. It remains active for many years and can even operate when coated with further layers or covered over. Braas is also presenting an environmental solution - roofing tiles which have titanium oxide in their surface. In conjunction with sunlight, these tiles reduce the amount of harmful nitrogen oxide in the air.

Hans Hundegger Maschinenbau GmbH is also presenting some new developments at Roof+Timber International. Their K2i-6 is being premiered in Cologne. This joinery machine can process all six sides of a component in one operation, which means there is no longer any need to turn or angle any of the components. All of which enhances precision and performance. The company is also showcasing a new production line for profiled wood elements. With just one machine operator the machine produces one cubic metre of profiled wood elements per minute in a visual quality suitable for floors and roofs. Visitors to the Hundegger stand will also be able to see a range of machinery and solutions for wood processing in working operation.

Böcker AG from Werne is showing its new automatic crane AK 42/3000 SPS. This aluminium crane is very compact in dimensions and very cost-effective, as well as delivering high performance, range and dynamics. Its characteristics are 42 metres extension (can be further extended to 44 metres), 35 metres lateral range and four tonnes of maximum load.

BiERBACH is known for long-lasting timber connection systems that are flexible and easy to use. These push-fit systems enable almost invisible connections in wood, without slots or pegs. The system is used in structural timber frames, as well as on balconies, in post and rail connections, and on garden buildings, carports and exhibition stands.

In roofing accessories, too, Roof+Timber International can boast many new developments. Onduline GmbH from Wiesbaden, for example, is presenting the ridge roll ULTRA. Based on aluminium, ULTRA delivers a seam totally sealed with polypropylene. This prevents any separation after cutting. The robust roofing sheet from Koramic has high resistance against temperature and UV weathering. The company will also be presenting its solutions for securing roofs against high wind.

But that´s not all the new innovations being presented at Roof+Timber International. Many more are on show. In every hall trade visitors will find solutions and ideas for doing their jobs more efficiently. Whether it´s data-processing solutions from WETO AG, laminated timber for rapid hall constructions from Finnholz or modern slate roofing from Rathscheck Schiefer - a visit to Roof+Timber International is a must for all those wanting to keep up with developments in their field.
