| Hochtief takes over facility management at Zollverein Hochtief Facility Management will be taking over the technical, commercial and infrastructural building management of the UNESCO world heritage site, the Zollverein Colliery in Essen, from January 1, 2010 for an initial period of three years. The company has concluded a corresponding contract with the Zollverein Foundation which foresees an optional three-year extension. Hochtief constructed the industrial site in 1931 in Bauhaus style. This monument to industrial culture extends over a total area of more than 660,000 square meters, all of which will be operated by Hochtief Facility Management. The site contains 30 buildings, including the former colliery and the adjacent coking plant, and will also be home to the new Ruhr Museum in future. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Construction News :: home page |
