| Kone wins order in Rotterdam Finnish elevators and escalators maker Kone won an order to supply new elevators and escalators for the Erasmus Medical Centre expansion in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Kone will provide 43 elevators and 2 escalators for the medical facility's expansion. The new medical complex will include a 120-meter tower including elevators with Kone's innovative Destination Control System. A one-year maintenance deal for all the equipment was also agreed in the order. Two of the elevators in the tower will also feature Kone JumpLift elevators, which boost the buildings' vertical transportation capacity during construction time by growing with the building. The contractor for the project is BC Nieuwbouw Erasmus MC, a combination of BAM Utiliteitsbouw bv and Ballast Nedam Speciale Projecten. The architect firm for the project is EGM Architects.
